Digital X-Rays

Digital X-Rays

The better the quality of the x-ray and the definition it offers, the more information that is available to the dentist to evaluate the condition, make a diagnosis and plan treatment. A small sensor is placed in the mouth which receives an x-ray beam and transmits it to a computer. The images offer far more clarity and detail than conventional x-rays and are color enhanced. This means that the patient will find it easier to understand the nature of the dental condition that needs treatment and the process the doctor plans to follow. This allows for clearer and more meaningful interaction between doctor and patient so that the patient is fully aware of the course of treatment being applied and the expected results. We know that an informed patient is a more comfortable one and the more comfortable he or she is, the easier the treatment procedure and recovery.

In addition to the great benefits that the quality of digital x-rays offer, the exposure to radiation is as much as 90% less than that experienced during conventional x-rays. This means that the already low radiation risk of x-rays is reduced even more.
